Thanks to the generous support of our community, the Education Foundation along with the Fine Arts Association granted a total of 11,799.00 to enhance the quality of education in our District. Stay tuned for a few grant spotlights.
We would like to thank the members of our community who made their mark by supporting the Snake River School District through the Snake River Education Foundation. Our Halloween Carnival was well attended and we were able to raise money to fund grants in our district for the coming year. Letters regarding grant applications were sent last month to each school in the district. Applications are due to the District Office by January 5th. All district employees are encouraged to participate in our grant program.
Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Beal wrote and received a grant to update books in the Riverside Library. Students are much more likely to check out books when they are “shiny and new.”
First grade teachers received a grant for the Scholastic News, an extra resource that enhances the first grade reading program.
The Snake River Middle School is proud of its Character Counts Program. Faculty and Staff are given tickets to distribute among well-deserving students each month. When a student is “caught” going above and beyond, they are awarded a ticket that they may use in the monthly store. Items in the store vary from umbrellas and books to assorted balls and even socks. SREF is a proud supporter of this store. If you are interested in furthering this program through a donation of new items or money that can be used to buy such items, contact Mrs. Seamons at the Snake River High School, or donate through SREF and direct your money to an excellent cause.
