More Footloose News!

Just a quick addition to my earlier email:

Children, please come practice with Mrs. Casperson at 7pm on Friday. We will probably make this a standing routine – every Friday at 7pm – until we tell you otherwise.

All girls who are in ‘Holding Out for a Hero’, which is all girls, make these plans for your costume for that scene: jeans – Paul says, “NO TIGHT JEANS!” – and pastel T-shirts – light blue, light purple or pink. Remember, black pants/jeans and dark shirts/jackets for the opening song “Footloose.” If anyone finds pastel shirts for cheap somewhere, let us all know.

Thanks!

Karen

NEWS! NEWS! – CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULE.

Footloose Cast,

Thanks to your help, our Footloose rehearsals are staying right on track! Well, except for the scene we missed when we were snowed out — we’ll make that up this Friday! However, we can still use more people knowing their parts.

EVERYONE MEMORIZE YOUR PARTS!!!

Here’s what we have on tap for this week:

Thursday, 24th 6:30pm – ALL High School girls and ALL High School boys (no dancers, no Junior High Girls, no Roller Girls, no younger boys – only HS age) – Songs – “Still Rockin” and “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” – Script pages 61-70.

Friday, 25th 6:30pm – ALL ADULTS and TEENS (FULL CAST, except for children, Vi and Ariel) – Song – “Somebody’s Eyes” – Script pages 21-31, + review of other scenes.
8:30pm – Ariel and Ren – song – “Almost Paradise” – Script pages 80-86.

ALL SCENES THAT WE HAVE ALREADY BLOCKED NEED TO BE MEMORIZED!

Saturday, 26th 8:00am – ALL BOYS – Song – “Mama Says” – Script pages 76-81.
10:30am – Ariel and Trio for end of “Mama Says” scene.

As you may have noticed, we’re really stressing that PARTS NEED TO BE MEMORIZED BY NOW!! So, keep working on those lines.

Also, if there are any parents or cast members who would be willing to help out, we could use help with
gathering props
putting up posters
Please let me know if you can.

Thanks again for being at practices and having such good attitudes.

NOTE: ALL CHILDREN PLEASE COME ON THURSDAY AT 7 PM TO THE CHOIR ROOM. YOU WILL PRACTICE WITH MRS. CASPERSON THERE. (Parents – they will be done earlier than 9:30, but I can’t tell you just when, 8:30?)

Friday, Jan. 18 – 6:30 pm – ALL teen girls, including roller girls, Jr. High girls and dancers. Song: Holding Out for a Hero.
8:30 – Vi, Ethel, Ariel, Preacher and Chuck Cranston. Song: Learning to be Silent

Saturday, Jan. 19 – 8:00 am – Ariel and Ren
8:30 – Preacher. Song: Heaven Help Me
9:00 – Ethel and Ren
9:30 – Preacher and Ren
10:00 – Preacher, Ghost Boy (Sean McBride), Ren, Ariel, and Vi (plus 4 teen parts that we will notify). Song: I Confess

NOW FOR A COSTUME UPDATE:

As you look for 80’s school clothes, be sure not to get any shirts with graphics on them (words or pictures).
Opening scene – girls need dark clothing – black jeans or pants, black/dark shirts, leather jackets. (Sorry that this is not what I had told some of you before.)
For the Footloose Finale, girls at the prom need short prom dresses, not long 80’s formals. (They are too hard to dance in.)

Thank you, everyone, for all that you are doing to make this show great!
